Single-Source Exhaust Engineering
From stamping to finished assembly — exhaust systems engineered, built, and validated under one roof.
CS Cosmos STIHL is a single-source exhaust manufacturer: stamping, deep drawing, welding, finishing, and assembly under one roof and one quality system. OEMs get a complete, validated exhaust system from one accountable partner — engineered for sound, heat, and vibration.

Most exhaust programs are a coordination project: one supplier stamps, another coats, a third assembles, and the OEM owns every gap between them. CS Cosmos STIHL is built differently. We engineer and manufacture the complete exhaust system — and the surrounding stamped and deep-drawn components — in one facility under one quality system, so a single partner is accountable for fit, finish, and performance.
What Single-Source Means for Your Program
-
One accountable partner from design through finished, assembled parts
-
Fewer handoffs — less fitment risk, lower incoming-inspection burden, tighter timing
-
DFM input early, when design changes are cheapest
-
One quality system and one set of documentation across the whole assembly
-
Tooling owned and run in-house, simplifying revisions and supplier transitions
The Exhaust Engineering Workflow
Details
Models and prints reviewed for manufacturability and cost before tooling is committed.
Prototype tooling and progressive and compound dies, designed and built in-house.
Stamping & Forming
Progressive and compound die stamping for precision parts, brackets and muffler components, plus deep-drawn shells, cans and enclosures.
Welding
Spot and MIG welding of shells and subassemblies, delivered weld-complete to your specification.
Finishing
Black oxide and brazing in-house. Powder coating, plating and high-temperature coatings through vetted partners.
Assembly & Validation
Hardware fitted to your torque and visual requirements, so finished assemblies ship ready for your line.
NVH: Sound, Heat, and Vibration
Exhaust is an NVH component before it is anything else. We tune mufflers to balance sound attenuation against backpressure so engine performance is preserved, route and shield heat away from operators and sensitive components, and design vibration-resistant mounting that survives the duty cycle. Catalytic and non-catalytic designs are both supported, sized to the emissions and acoustic targets of each platform.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does single-source exhaust manufacturing mean?
It means stamping, forming, welding, finishing, and assembly happen in one facility under one quality system — so one partner is accountable for the complete exhaust system.
Does CS engineer exhaust or just build to print?
Both. CS provides DFM and engineering support from prototype through validation, and also builds to customer-supplied designs.
Can CS handle the whole system, not just the muffler?
Yes. CS delivers the muffler, tubing, brackets, heat shields, and mounting hardware as one coordinated, finished assembly.
Does single-source reduce program risk?
Yes. Fewer suppliers and handoffs reduce fitment issues, inspection burden, and warranty exposure, and protect program timing.
What experience does CS bring?
CS has manufactured exhaust and metal-formed components for outdoor power equipment OEMs since 1972.
